We purchased these from Mt. Healthy Hatchery at the beginning of May. We have grown them out and they are just now starting to lay. They should lay pretty good even though winter has just started (our first batch last year did very well during winter) but they will really pick up when spring hits. Rhode Island Reds are known to lay anywhere from 240 to 280 eggs per year based on their feed and the care you give them. Ours have always been right around the middle at approximately 265 eggs or so. These are great dual purpose birds so once these start to decline in their egg laying (at about year 4) just process them and put them in the freezer.
I am selling these for $40 each but if you buy 10 or more then the price is $35.
