She is about 2 1/2 years old and needs a mature couple to give her the kind of home she is used to. I will not consider a young couple because when I have in the past the dog ended up lost and abandoned. She is too good a dog for that and I want her to have a solid home life.
I will NOT ship her anywhere. I prefer she get a good home locally where someone is home allot, as that is what she is used to.
She is NOT an outside dog and never has been. She will happily sleep with you if you let her. She needs a place where she can do her business and let off steam in a fenced area.
She loves long walks and to ride in the car. She will sit in the passenger side or in the back seat and not move from that position until you get where you are going or home.
If she gets out of the yard accidentally, all I have to do is start the car and open the door and she will jump right in, saves me having to chase her down, since she will take the opportunity to visit the neighbors.
She is beautiful and lovable and a great companion dog.
I am heart broken to have to give her up, but due to circumstances beyond my control I must, though I will not give her to just anyone, no matter how long it might take.
If you are considering this type of dog, and you want one that has already been through the puppy stage and is already housebroken, leash trained, spayed and trustworthy in the home with out caging, then this is the dog for you.
Of course I would appreciate as much information as possible about the kind of home she would have if you adopt her.
Do you own your own home? I ask this because I see too often that renters with pets all too often abandon their dogs when they are forced to move.
Do you have a fenced area for her to play? Or are you willing to walk her?
Do you have other dogs and what kind? She is good with small dogs, but not sure about dogs her size, though. She takes a couple of days to get used to another dog, and she has been around other strays that I have fostered with no problem to speak of.
Do you have kids and how old? I don't know how she would be with very small children in a living situation, though she has never bothered the kids in the neighborhood.
Please forgive me if I sound like a mother hen, but this dog is just about the best dog I have ever had, and I will only be happy if I know she is going to be treated as well as I have treated her.

042608 002 - Super sweet 11-mo-old boxer mix male is a good boy. He is friendly and nice. He enjoys being with people and does great with other dogs. He is in need of surgery as one of his legs is dislocated.
These poor, sweet dogs - and kitten - are at the high-kill Murray County Shelter (just north of Atlanta and just south of Chattanooga, TN). They need your help ASAP! Please say you can help rescue them!!
NOTE: The pups/kitten must have a rescue lined up ASAP, but can stay at the shelter a couple days longer if needed. Also, free transport to Atlanta is available. + Transport to the NE scheduled this week.

Where do you live? Do you have other dogs? kids? Are you wanting an indoor or outdoor dog? (ours lives inside but LOVES to run around outside to play.... he has alot of energy!) He likes chasing a stick or ball thrown, but has not mastered the concept of bringing it back(work in progress). He is totally facinated by leaves blowing around and plays tag with them. His favorite toy is a squeaker toy that his tosses around for himself and squeaks.

Coonhounds are intelligent, sensitive, and very loyal. Many people think they are just used for hunting instead of seeing them for the fine pet home pets they make. Even if a coonhound has been used for hunting they are VERY adaptable and can adapt to home life as well as living inside.
Coonhounds get along GREAT with ALL breeds of dog and make a perfect addition to your multi-dog rescue group! :)
COONHOUNDS ARE WONDERFUL CLOWNS !! They love everyone, especially children, are great dogs, minimal grooming and hours of entertainment. With few exceptions, hounds make great family pets for those willing to care for them properly. Hounds typically adore children and view them as some of the best entertainment a dog could ever be blessed with. The Hound loves to have fun...kids love to have fun...the two usually do very well. The Hound is as well a very friendly breed. While they may never do well as a guard dog, they will warn you of someone's approach ...barking usually just long enough to be petted. The hound is adaptable and intelligent and will likely be the source of hours of good hearty play time. Hounds have a sense of humor like few other breeds of dog. They enjoy play and fun as much as they enjoy the hunt and will likely be more like having another child than having a dog. Interactive and involved in family life the hound requires a dedicated owner, but has no problem returning the dedication shown it on an every day basis. The hound is an affectionate breed that will openly and honestly enjoy you as much as you do it. An honest, straight forward dog this breed inspires dedication and near fanatical loyalty from those lucky enough to appreciate them.
Coonhounds are active dogs who will require active families. Their intelligence makes them bore easily and they may find creative ways to entertain themselves if left alone for extended periods or forced to live in households that do not provide enough stimulation (ie. digging, chewing). People who are willing to exercise their dog regularly and are creative in ways to allow the Coonhound to play and occasionally use its hunting instinct will have no problems with this breed. They are easy dogs to live with and easy dogs to maintain, so long as these few requirements are tended to.They have a cooperative nature and are somewhat easier to train than other hound breeds, like the Beagle. Typically good with other DOGS (they may see your cat as prey if not raised with it) and children, Coonhounds are a mostly overlooked pet breed just now gaining recognition.

Up for adoption in 10 days time, after biting someone today, is Bubbles, a pug mix. She is about 5 years old, adopted from the local pound. Great dog. Potty trained, great lap dog. Needs to be on a leash at all times or in a car. No families with other dogs need apply as Bubbles was not ever socialized properly and tends to go crazy when let loose. She had been an indoor/outdoor dog. We went on vacation for a few weeks and has since been escaping the fence, no matter how we try to fix it. She is microchipped and you will get that information if you adopt her. We are asking $100 for a rehoming fee so we know that you are serious about adopting her, and keeping her in your loving home.
