SAVING SHADOW!! Please read... She needs a home (Dalton,Ga)

Shadow is a medium sized black Border Collie mix. She is/was a stray that came to my elderly parent's home about 2 months ago. We looked for her old forever home, then looked for a new forever home. Meanwhile, my parents fell in love with her.
Today, 4/18/08, their neighbors called the dog pound to pick up shadow. We originally didn't know why they would have pin pointed this particular dog considering all the dogs that run lose in this area. From what I understand these people were reported for washing their three cars... So in return they called the pound on my parent's dog? They must have assumed my parents reported them. My parents are old and just want to leave well enough alone and could care less about these people or their cars.
The guy that came out to pick up the dog gave my parents a choice of turning the dog over or paying $350 fine plus what ever court fees they would receive and keep her. Living on a fixed income, they felt they had no choice but to give him the dog. All I can say is the devastation they are feeling at this point in time. Especially my dad, being homebound, loves watching her thru the window.

Shadow needs a place to run... acres... or a large yard. She likes chasing butterflies, birds, carpenter bees, and oh! Cats. She loves older children, she may be too rough for little ones. She can jump and catch a frisbee or sticks.
Loves toys... She likes to be boss... Rounds everything up where she can keep an eye on things.
I posted a message on the Atlanta community... And then remembered they were closer to Tenn. Please... PLEASE... If you or you know someone who would love to have a free spirited dog... Save Shadow. Go to the animal control and claim her.... She is black with little white toes and little white on her chest and answers to shadow. She also came with a leather collar... I don't know if they still have it. I'm not sure where else I can post this message.
