Enjoy the second largest rowing regatta in the country, the Head of the Hooch, in the beautiful setting of Downtown Chattanooga. Experience 1,500 boats, including the U.S. Olympic Team racing to the finish line right past the waterside spectator peer of Ross’s landing. The event is Free to watch. Races run Saturday, November 7 from 9 am to 6 pm and Sunday, November 8 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Spectators can also watch from the world’s longest pedestrian bridge, where additional booths including the History of Rowing will be set up all day. Hot air balloon rides (weather permitting) on site will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Come visit Chattanooga and see the spectacle that is the Head of the Hooch.
New this year at the Head of the Hooch, on Friday from Noon-4 pm, top rowing experts will teach a ‘Learn to Row’ event. Registration is required for the ‘Learn to Row’ event at www.headofthehooch.org. Cost is $10 and benefits go to Susan G. Komen race for the cure.
